Preparing Your Quilt Top and Back
How to Prepare Your Quilt Top
· Maximum quilt top size is 102” x 108”
· Cut lose threads, especially dark threads that will show under light colors
· Press all seams flat, double check there are no holes in the quilt
· Remove all embellishments such as buttons, sequins, etc.
· If the quilt top is directional, please mark the top with a safety pin
How to Prepare Your Quilt Back
· Please prewash the quilt backing
· The quilt back needs to be 4” to 6” wider than each side of the quilt top
· Press seams open, horizontal seams are preferred
· If the quilt back is directional, please mark the top with a safety pin
· Quilt backing can be 100% cotton quilt fabric, or flannel. No other types of backing please.
If We are Piecing the Back
If you are having us piece your back, please press and send the yardage. You can cut the yardage to the correct measurements, or we can cut it for you. Please leave the selvages on the yardage. We will cut them off during the process of piecing.
